Awesome map showing when spring starts using Climo averages. I'm March 8th. Makes sense since we don't get max temps in the teens anymore and we get more warmer days. Ironically GFS and Euro showing true cold ends after next weekend.(8th)

Looks like Indianapolis end date for coldest weather falls between March 2nd and the 4th of March based on those averages, but a cold and snowy opening to March here this year, could see as much as 6 or more inches of snowfall by Sunday Evening in the circle city not to worry, the "experts" are saying that temperatures should moderate after the first week of March, I wonder how well they'll get that prediction down.

Since there's no true forum rule on these seasonal threads, I'd rather talk about current weather now since it's March in this thread, even if its "winter" type weather, since these threads go by specific months and not type of weather... With that said...

Current Radar, 850mb temps & storm reports.

4-8" of new snow on the ground across MO, IL, & Indiana..

Warm layer aloft over NC with surface below freezing = ice.

Future Radar loop. Watch the rain/snow line creep up NJ and to NYC/Long Island. CT Stays in the snow the whole time.

It's in March now, all I need is constant 50s to 60s weather. Am I acclimatized to North Carolina's pleasant Spring season?

Rainfall total ended up being 9.83 inches. Some locations only a couple miles east and west reported only 3.

Everyone around here seems on edge now, they want and need spring and there's stil a foot of snow on the ground, piles everywhere, haven't seen the grass since January and temps still below freezing. And now more snow. So everyone knows its coming but they're looking for it more now.

Here's old maps on March extreme Max and Mins. I've hit 80F+ here but also have gotten below 0F too.

Good map. I usually switch threads around the 10th. Seems like a pattern shift is happening by the end of next weekend. Nice match with the clock change.

Late March might have some serious flooding issues, depending on how fast the warmup is.
