Just checked the met office, Heathrow was up to 34.5C at 11am! that cloud that appeared for 2 hours ruined it, it dropped to 32C but the sun is back out now so there's still a chance of 36C maybe slightly higher at a push.. Northolt is still above 35C too so I reckon there is a chance of a record breaker

Wittering has also hit 34C & the cloud must have passed from Heathrow as the temperature climbed from 31C at 13:20 to 33C at 13:50...

Northolt was at 33C at the last update at 14:00. I doubt it's 35C yet.

31C at Linton on Ouse now - with clearer skies there, let's hop it can reach 90 at least. It's been rising 2C every hour.

Here, back down to 30C and cloudy - and now it's raining! Huge drops too.

I don't know about you, but I'm hoping for some big storms later!

Hopefully it'll stay clear at Linton. I finished work there about an hour ago and it was absolutely roasting surrounded by concrete on the runway.

Edit: It looks like there's a bit of lightning already coming up through South Yorkshire.

Yup, me too. The Met weren't going for storms around South Yorkshire so it's a positive sign.

Anyway, we had thunder here, but now the sun is coming back out - hopefully a further increase in temperature.

In Turin it's 34.3°C right now. For once I'm happy to live on the Alps, here it's "just" 27.5°C.

I'm a little bit surprised to see that the weather station in Turin has recorded more than 34°C, because the weather forecast predicted "just "30°C as high temperature for today in Turin.
