Portland. Both have cold winters but not much snow. Portland has also warmer summer. Sunshine makes me choose Portland!

Wow, talk about a lopsided vote. Is there anywhere in south England which could beat Portland I wonder.
Portland is only warmer during the day, same temps I night. I very much dislike the summer night temps in both places.

IMO, no. Portland is obviously much wetter than here during winter, but it's not like winter here is nice so it makes no difference to me. I'd love to have a Portland summer. It'd then be possible to organise garden parties or BBQs a week in advance without having to worry about the weather being rubbish.

I tried! I wanted to choose possibly the sunniest place in England, but it still can't beat a city in the PNW. Next time, I should probably try Alaska?

I'd like to see how Forks would fare against Hastings.

Ugh, I couldn't manage more than a week in a place like Forks. Talk about clouds and rain probably all year round. 120 inches of rain. No thanks.

Forks is terrible. It's always dark and cold even in the middle of summer. That's why there are only 3000 people living there.
