One of the best sunsets in a while. Looks very post-apocalyptic.
It was.. I couldn't resist take a ride towards the beach before I missed it all.. I pulled over and was getting pissed I couldn't capture the right colors.
I tried all kinds of settings and it wasn't doing it. The sunset colors and cloud formations were amazing after the storms. Purples, Pinks, Reds, Oranges, Blues, Yellows.

I had the exact same problem, I only had my phone with me. My actual camera would've performed better.
Definitely one of the greatest sunsets I can recall, and the colors lasted very long, they usually don't. Everything (cars, buildings, etc.) was illuminated in yellow/orange.

Reason: Grammatical error. :(

Yeah, that was funky. I didn't understand why the camera was showing the surface to be yellow/Orange but that was the natural color going on. Just very tough and I wasn't prepared for that.
Your photo came out awesome. I didn't even bother to check twitter. It was up and down the coast.
So who else would tolerate this in their vegetable garden?
4 weeks ago the mother dug the hole, prepared the nest in my Potato patch..
2 weeks ago she had the babies. Oddly, only 2 of them..
4 days ago they finally opened their eyes.
This morning, you can really tell they are getting bigger and healthier but still can't get out and walk.
I'm glad my Red Potato is being used as an umbrella. Covered by hay is the only thing protecting them from Rain, Sun, Wind, Cold, Heat.
Long Island Webcam caught some interesting features over Connecticut. That Tornado lookalike on the left was the afternoon one that caused the major damage in South Salem NY and Ridgefield, CT 20min NE of me. It's a disaster with trees and wires down everywhere.
Then watch the timelapse video with the fire sunset and it even caught a lightning bolt. You have to imagine how many lightning strikes there were for a webcam to catch one...or just impressively lucky.
I got 0.30" of rain in 20 minutes. Very heavy stuff and you can see that in the video right before the sunset colors.
Compare that view with this one posted in the CT weather thread.. Looks similar. Tornado may have touched down

As for Wallingford, my house is untouched hardly anything down leaves or otherwise. However a drive through downtown shows a different story with huge trees uprooted and snapped in half.
