That's funny isn't it. A quick google search reveals that the flight time is 7.5 hours.

Yes that is the time gate to gate.

In the air from take off to touch down is often in the 6 hour range. It 3,000 miles/5 - 6. It doesn't affect you anyway living in Australia.
