The apartment we stayed in on my trip to Paris was an excellent example of enjoying the local culture - it was soooo much better than a stale ol' hotel.
West Palm Beach instead of Miami
Reunion instead of Orlando
Arlington instead of Washington.
Religion is just a try of primitive man to explain natural phenomena. They didn't know why the lightning strikes, why it's raining, why there are diseases etc, so they thought there was someone's will beyond that. Nowadays, science can answer all these questions, so there is no need for religion at all.

Precisely my view on it. I've always said Religion was created to "explain the inexplicable".

I guess it's not the only reason, though. Life of primitive man was dangerous, so they wanted to be protected by someone or something. And another reason was hoping to have life after death.
You definitely won't ever run into Owen in any of those towns....lol.

I believe that's why many people still believe in it to this day....they don't want to believe that when you die you just die....they want to think there's something after it. They feel comfort in having "faith" that there is an afterlife, so your life is eternal.
Going to name a couple towns where I'm staying in Mexico in case anyone's heard of them (NorthStar?). Besides the obvious Mexico City, of course.
Taxco
Mineral del Chico
Zacatlan
Tepoztlan
Not too familiar with those towns. I imagine those are fairly close to Mexico City? And will you be using a car to get around?
The places I've visited on my trip to Mexico are: Mexico City (and out to the pyramids), Oaxaca, Puerto Escondido, Acapulco, and Tamazunchale (where my aunt was a missionary). Yes, I did all of that on a single trip...lol.
It was quite fun going from Oaxaca to Puerto Escondido on a DC-3, which barely made it over a 11,000-foot mountain range.
