Most of our snow is melted, and the grass finally has that yellowish winter look.
I'd say about 50-60% of the ground is still snow-covered here. And where there is snow cover, in more shaded areas, there are still deep spots (6 or so inches / 15 cm).
The cool weather, and the clouds in particular, today should minimize snow melting. There'll probably be some melting tomorrow, but the most melting should occur Sunday, and Monday if there's any left by then (except snow piles).

Must be different grass there, I would have thought your cold early January weather would have turned all the grass brown after freezing the ground solid. Ours turned brown mid-January after a couple weeks of mean temperatures below freezing.
I would, but seems today I don't have enough time to fly out to New Zealand. How about tomorrow? I'll bring a couple of J's.
We could postpone, but that means Mike and Cindy wouldn't be able to make it. Monday is also (Nelson) anniversary day -perfect for sleeping off hangovers.

Yes, different grass.
