Did my complaining work? We'll see in about an hour, parts of NYC under a severe thunderstorm warning now, I'm seeing reports of very high winds with these storms moving in.

10 days out! lol Playing the loop all I see for Southeast is purple, purple, purple 90s 90s 90s. Gees. lol

Yeah, don't know why the marine layer is being factored in so much down there. They might need to correct that with their next update. Too bias on it maybe? Or maybe they feel 87-89 is close enough to have 90-92 happen as margin of error? I don't know.

Problem is, does someone keep track of every area of the world at their centers? I assume they have some kind of program to help them figure out what isn't working too well vs actual? Like they adjusted the NAM model from showing too much precip all the time when they realized it (but it still does anyway, just not as much)
See it shouldn't be like that though....obviously models should know what the averages are down here, and if it's calling for above normal, even 90-92 would be a bit too "cool" considering that's average for us (although a certain Miami poster on here would love to make you believe that 87-89 would be average )

Also, living down here you notice more the subtle differences between similar temps, for example 91 F compared to 88 F feels like it has an extra "bite" to it IMO. Similar to comparing below freezing temps like say 30 F versus 34 F

Part of me thinks that they do it because the computer can't pick up the contrast between temps on the peninsula vs say, 50 miles out to the ocean too well. It's a tight temperature gradient (well "tight", as in 96 F vs. 88 F perhaps) so maybe they do that because it doesn't pick it up too well. Still, something that needs to be worked on and a big part as to why I don't take those models seriously.
