It's not rare or uncommon. I wouldn't say "normal" but everyone has a different meaning of normal. It happens a lot, not every year but maybe every 3-5 yrs? It happened last year too. (over 2")

Just surprised to see that on the Spring thread, lol. We struggle to get that much snow over an entire winter! I thought the pics of the beech and chestnut trees looked similar to your region.

Few more and I'm done.

It was a race against time before it all melted off the trees. (took 4hrs after sunrise with temps in mid 30s/1.6C)

Had some amazing views from the Merritt Parkway this morning.
March 21, 2016.

New Canaan & Stamford Connecticut

You can see the snow plopping off the trees and falling

Looked like a painting.

Magnolia's ready to start opening. This weekend I bet a few will.

Purple and White Flowers. Not sure what kind. Tulips aren't out yet

Daffodils. I saw a few yellow blooms but didn't grab a photo. These will all be out this weekend I bet

How can you not have a Red Barn Snow Picture today.

We didn't get much snow, just enough to cover the ground. But beautiful sky as the snow was ending.

March averages about as much snow as December there; ocean is colder.

We probably average about 5cm/2" of snow in a typical winter. The past 2 winters combined we probably haven't even received 1cm.

Do you get lots of beech and sweet chestnut there?

Is picture 17 from my last set a type of magnolia?
