It's not rare or uncommon. I wouldn't say "normal" but everyone has a different meaning of normal. It happens a lot, not every year but maybe every 3-5 yrs? It happened last year too. (over 2")

Just surprised to see that on the Spring thread, lol. We struggle to get that much snow over an entire winter! I thought the pics of the beech and chestnut trees looked similar to your region.

Struggle to get 3" an entire winter? Crazy. I got 33"(83cm) total now this season. Not enough but Good enough for me in this well above normal record warm winter here. lol

We probably average about 5cm/2" of snow in a typical winter. The past 2 winters combined we probably haven't even received 1cm.
Do you get lots of beech and sweet chestnut there?
Is picture 17 from my last set a type of magnolia?
