How are you still getting dewpoints in the mid 70s in mid October? I realize that Malta is an island, but I wouldn't think the Mediterranean would still be THAT warm to create those dews

The sea temperature is still 24C & we currently have 'Sirocco' winds dragging in warm & humid air from north Africa...
These are the current dewpoints at the Met Office stations around Malta:
