Holy ****, the view of the night sky from the Atacama Desert is amazing! Just stars everywhere and in all directions, feels like walking into a real-life planetarium. Even crazier is that you can see this beautiful white haze-fog thing. As someone who has primarily lived in big cities in my life, seeing the universe like that is just astonishing and surreal
I never saw the Milky Way growing up near NYC. Roadtrip in the US southwest was probably first time I saw and remembered it.
