You're the same age as me, but I definitely don't remember anything from 1989.
My first memory is from April or May 1993. I distinctly remember we had a drawing day at the daycare centre and that I really didn't like the noise at all. That's probably why I remember it
I was 5 when 9/11 happened however I do not remember it happening at all. Infact I discovered it probably a few years after it happened.
I was ten at the time and mum told me a skyscraper had been hit by a plane and I was like as I saw it on the TV. It was also my first impression of islam. The first cut is the deepest they say Then the day after that we watched a piece in school about some analyst saying it had absolutely nowt to do with the peaceful religion of islam. That was my first experience of fake news.
Those two experiences changed my outlook and politisized me really hard even at that age. It started that underlying rage for those who died that day. Saudi government scum The third defining act that politisized me was when the "right" took over Sweden and sure implemented their sick neo-liberal agenda but also continued the left-wing government's policy of bringing mussies in at a record speed. That really got me woke sometime around 2009.
I was 14 when 9/11 happened so unsurprisingly I remember it very well. That was definitely one of the defining moments of my generation.
Probably traumatized a generation too
