First half of April looks mild.

nice! though tired of the "axis of warmth" being so far west. Feels like spring is starting for real this time. Temperatures forecast to be in the 50s most of the week. Only see one night below 30°F. Slowly climbing out of the cold. This March is 5.0°F below average so far, March 2015 is 7.2°F below average.

I wonder if this is any hint on the pattern going into the latter half of spring and summer

No Arctic blasts coming but still no crazy heat surges or periods. Lets call it seasonable? And yeah, finally. But still, feels like we need 60s to thaw out. lol

BTW - Rain and fog this morning helping get rid of shaded snow drifts and piles. Finally. 2 weeks looking at the stuff in March. Piles wont be gone after today though.

0.30" this morning and still raining hard. Mud, Mud, Mud

4" of snow ALL melted in 3 days IN JANUARY
8" of snow taking 2 weeks to melt IN MARCH

Yup, all the warmth has been in the Midwest and in the Ohio Valley, very little of it made its way here. Only two above average days since March 9. Yesterday's high turned out to be surprisingly low at 36F

In terms of days above 40F, it's been a very bad situation here. Only 9 days above 40F so far, third lowest this century behind 2001 and 2015

That early February snowstorm melted faster. 13" on 2/13, melted out by the 22nd. We're still in drought, slow melt is better for the soil

I hope that blob never returns for decades. Looks what wonders happened when it was gone. I got a mild winter, Seattle finally got what it deserved, and Cali got loads of rain. Was a total win win without that blob creating that ridiculously resilient ridge. Bye bye and hope we never see it again.

That's what killed JB's winter forecast. The North Pacific cold pool is closer to the PNW than he though it would be. If this negative anomaly stays in place during the summer, do you think that it would mean for a hotter east?
