For where I live:

-The current (March 13-15) cold wave. Ordinarily temperatures like this wouldn't go in the hall of shame unless they were after about March 21. But the extremely warm late winter and then sudden return to cold after a month of solidly mild-warm temperatures was bad.

-December 2015 warmth was one of the worst "seasonal lag" months where I live. Winter starts at precisely midnight on December 1, but this torch of a month came in at averages of 60 / 41 F (16 / 5 C). November's 1981-2010 average is 59 / 37 F (15 / 3 C) so this was quite warm even by November standards.

-The fall of 2016. September 1-25 had an average high of 89 F / 32 C, which I suppose I can live with, because after September 25 it dramatically cooled. But then October came in with an average high of 79 F / 26 C, which is too hot, but what bothered me was the hard-as-steel lack of any cool days. Average 1981-2010 high in October is 71 F / 22 C, but only two days in October 2016 stayed under 69 F / 21 C. November 20 was the first day to stay below 58 F / 14 C. At least December was decent, but damaged by a heat wave that peaked on Christmas Day. At least it was the warmest Christmas ever, so there was a record.

-The early March 2015 snows DO NOT go in the hall of shame because they were on March 5, less than a week outside of winter. Plus February was cold that year so it felt like a long contiguous season. Ditto for the cold wave in early March 2014. Winter was cold that year so it felt natural that March would be a bit chilly as well.

-2007 had two failings - once again, a very warm fall, as well as the April 5-8 cold wave AFTER a very warm March.

I think 2010 and 2005 took the cake here, both El Nino years, and Spring took forever to set in

I like warm Septembers here

But the bad March months have been 2005, 2006 and 2013. Bad stuff all three of them.

Can't remember which year it was, but I know that a few years ago, we recorded snow and frosts right up until the end of April/Early May.

Last spring (2016) was abysmal, all three months were below average in temperature and sunshine, and all above average in rainfall. Not good.

Spring got delayed here in 2006, 2010, 2013 and 2016.

2008 was a shocker, it snowed on 6th April and then again on 28th October

Same here in the same month, the country as a whole averaged 9.7C that December, which is so off-the-charts warm that it would have been the second-warmest November ever recorded, only 0.4C off the November record. IIRC some places in southern England had average lows above 10C!

December 2015 was 2.2C warmer than April 2016 - we've had Decembers warmer than Aprils before, but only by fractions of a degree.

Where I live (not far from Athens, GA), the springs of 1996, 2005 and 2013 were cold and stormy, and the falls of 1998, 2007 and 2016 were hot and dry.

Easily spring. March is often the coldest and the snowiest month, April can get stunning chill, and May can be chilly and overcast. But living in Northeast you know that all the seasons can be delayed by quite a bit, September can get powerful heat waves and December is more like an autumn month than it is winter

I can't find any delayed seasons for here. When you get frequent cold/warm spells in spring, as here does, then any spring weather feels normal.
