Bees are much less aggressive than wasps.

When I was younger, I remember being really afraid of bees. I remember running away from one outside - so my grandmother went up to one and stroked its fur to show me that they're not scary. The bee didn't do anything in response. Made me feel less fearful of them.

Worth bearing in mind though that bumble bees (the one pictured above ) don't make honey.

But they're still productive members of society. Unlike those deadbeat wasps.

I gave a bumble bee some sugar water once. Good idea if you ever see one on the ground - they're usually tired.

I'd always assumed they were dying if they were lying on the ground. Good to know they can be helped.

This. Bees in general are not aggressive and keep to themselves. It is the wasps who constantly end up crawling into places they shouldnt be near. I've had a wasp sting me once because it crawled onto my opened palm and I closed my hand without seeing what was there
