Is there also a thread about advantages of low latitude climates?
They are self-evident, most of the western world travels to the tropics every chance they get. Regularly taking trips "to the warm lands" is almost like a religion here.

Funny thing is that many "cold birds" love taking trips to the "cold lands" every chance they get in winter. Low latitude dwellers worship cold climates.
By the way, nothing is better than a hot weather. It can be cozy, especially during nights.
I think 47-53 are best latitudes if you live in a western coast, 35-45 are the limit for east coasts, nowhere above 46N is good on the eastern fringes of continents, maybe black sea coasts of Bulgaria or Ukraine but thats kinda cheating.
The only places in the northern hemisphere with decent climates above 55N are Scandinavia and Western north america.
In terms of human development, both the tropics and artic circle still to hostile for humans, but the later still worse, maybe some quirky locations in norway or finland can have decent grow seasons above the artic circle, but most places at those latitudes are pure ice deserts.
I find very long summer days and winter nights interesting, the northern most I've ever been was Seattle at 47N, and it was barely noticeable, maybe because where i used to live is not that further south in comparison 31N, my current location is more subtropical and there are just 3 or 4 hours of difference between summer and winter.
