That's just not true. The real problem is the record cold and snow. When we have been told by "experts" and a million others that winters are warming the fastest in the US, that global warming will result in milder winters, with less snow, and that the world is warmer than ever, when reality shows that the US is suffering terrible cold and then on top of all that, the record cold and snow is then claimed to be from record warming.
At some point reality is going to matter more.
IMNSHO of course
We've had one of our warmest winters and summers in the last 6 years.
Most of 2017 was pretty much warmer/hotter than normal (if there is such a thing as normal) and drier than normal, but now we're bracing for colder than normal for at least a week.

The record cold/snow is confined to just central/eastern USA. The west has been warming at an alarming rate these past few years along with the rest of the planet.
Well, I've read it and agree with him, look at that map, the only place under well below normal temperatures are central and eastern North America.. the problem here is that most of the U.S posters don't care about the world if their climates still be the way they like.
Must be all that cold air emanating from the politicians in the White House under president Trump:hamd :.
I'm in Berea, KY, where it's not supposed to get above about 25F between now and when I leave on Tuesday. Sadly there's no snow cover and nothing more than a chance of flurries is forecasted. But I'm going up to Indianapolis tomorrow, and there should be snow on the ground there. I was outside for a few hours today playing an online game with my friends (the wifi wasn't working, so I had to use a mobile hotspot, but service was bad inside), and I felt extremely cold after being out there a couple hours. It was only about 30, but there was no sun and I wasn't wearing gloves or moving around much.

If anyone's interested in finding their coldest [or warmest] weeks for the favorite station, let me know. Would be best for me to do other stations after figured out how to do one.
Could you do the coldest weeks for Raleigh and Oklahoma City?
