Hung the laundry out this afternoon...Noticed the beginnings of Wood Violets popping their heads-up in the flower beds (I transplantted them from the Meadows), Grass greening...
Believe a Beaver has returned to the Creek...Both Beloved and a Friend witnessed a stiring in the water down by the lower Beaverdam...
Red-Winged Blackbirds (and their OBNOXIOUS friends, the Grackles), have returned enforce...Many Sparrows are feeding under the Bird Feeders and in the Lilac Grove...(White-Chinned Sparrows, White Crowned Sparrows, Chipping Sparrows and Song Sparrows have been sighted), while aplenty of Black-Capped Chickadees have arrived to frolic with the one who stayed all year, togehter with the Nuthatches have returned to consume their share of seeds.
The Blue Jays have gone away and rarely visit! A Purple Finch displayed his splendor with a song...Even a Female Cardinal arrived for a bite and left.
The Birch Meadows is a symphony of Song Birds...Still, I await the pair of Rose-Breasted Grossbeaks returning to the Lilac Grove...longing for their song at daybreak..
This brief reprieve of warmth and sun is invigorating and comforting...Rumor has it that the reminder of the week may remain the same...Thankfully hoping!
