Bellingham near the Canadian border has been a lot colder. Portland has also been slightly colder the last several days. This was not like February 2019. Snow and cold were very localized this year. Some forecast from 7 days ago called for much colder weather and potential ice days when in reality even overnight temperatures were not that bad. I guess the weather in this region is very hard to forecast because of the many microclimates.
The midsection of Oklahoma, centered along the I-44 corridor, got generous amounts of cold rain on Jan. 16 and 17. All three metros got over an inch. More rain is in the forecast later this month. For now strong southwest winds are raising the temperature from the 40s to well in the 50s tonight out ahead of a cold front. Its arrival will clear the skies, rather than make more rain.

CFSv2 will not bend. It says the cold is here to stay for the next month. The Euro which is the better model says NOPE. However, the Euro has not been performing well recently.
Hope we downgrade our forecast a couple of degrees today so that it accumulates. At least a lag in the warmup would be nice.
