Current weather conditions Yakutsk airport UEEE. City of 320k lucky residents. Really wishing I could be there... if only no covid restrictions and visa considerations.

Note the -65F readings in the obs. Coldest since I don't even know when... long time.

Wtf man what happened to the cold pattern which was supposed to take shape at the end of January and start of February here? Deep trough in the West and ridge in the Central US?

Look who's getting snow Monday night-Tuesday morning. Hartford 0. Philly maybe a couple inches?

Not a big storm.

The next one might be says GFS

A storm that goes from 1006 over Kentucky to 983mb off the Virginia coast. BOMBS away. We'll see about timing and placement soon.

Made it up to 61 yesterday at the lake once the sun finally came out. Took the kayak out and tested the dry suit I bought a few months ago. Was actually too warm but it did it's job with the water. Went halfway down the ladder into the water which was a pretty weird feeling. Water temp was 50 degrees so pretty cold for here. Could definitely "feel" it but I definitely did not get wet inside.

Only supposed to be mid 50s after starting out at just 27. Warming up though. Could hit 71 here but probably only 68 at my apartment back in Atlanta. Far cry from south Florida but hey I'll take it. Low of just 59 Tuesday morning too.

You know what this airmass at 5000' means...

-15C at 5000' above me today.

Surface temps will be cold even with full sun. Nothing crazy but below normal. You can see the coastal areas warmer than inland obviously.
Western Mass hills in the teens.

And with these wind gusts its feeling like its in the teens during the day here.
