Still waiting for this storm system to impact us here in Indianapolis. We are still under a winter weather advisory until 1PM but current NWS forecast is calling for very light ice accumulation and less than a half inch of snow now. This is way down from the up to a quarter inch of ice and one inch of snow they were calling for as of last night. The temperature is already at 30F and the longer we go in daylight without precipitation, the less amount of anything other than rain we will see. Radar still shows precipitation well to our south.
Wednesday's system that was also set to bring us some accumulating snow now seems to failing in its mission as well. Maybe we'll get an inch. And at this point, I feel like that is a big maybe.

No more rain or snow the rest of the year in Indianapolis the new Sahara desert.
It’s supposed to be a sunny and unseasonably mild day today in Fort Worth Texas, with highs in the mid to upper 60’s. We shall see if the forecast does indeed verify........
Yeah it finally started here a couple hours ago and you can tell people aren't used to winter weather. There have been so many accidents reported around the metro with just a thin layer of sleet and freezing rain. The later arrival of the precip forced them to push back the end of the winter weather advisory from 1PM to 5PM. We're at 31F currently with a mix of sleet and freezing rain. We had a little bit of snow about an hour ago but not much.
Not surprised about the freezing rain. The air south of the system is very warm.
Currently 75 F down here in Georgia right now.
Huge thermal gradient seems to be right over Atlanta extending east to Columbia, SC. Anywhere south of there is in the 70s.
Whoa! Thanks! I don't always look at temps but thanks for making me look. Sun and 70s there 81° Dublin, GA.. 40s in NC thanks to the clouds because its not very cold aloft there... and meanwhile 5-9" of snow fell in Kansas and Nebraska
I can't even get light snow with arctic air around without this mix stuff????
There goes Des Moines again in a Heavy Snow Rate Discussion.. Going for the gold.. or close to it.
29 inches of snow so far this season and another 5-9" possible today. What a winter for them.
They'll be a foot above normal after today.
