We had a huge fire here on Wednesday near Cajon Pass. Fortunately it was put out by that evening.
Skies were crystal clear yesterday, with great air quality surprisingly
Socal is safer from fires even if it's drier. Less vegetation to burn and fires don't spread too much unless there's santa Ana's. Sept/October is when you got to watch out.
Gonna be a 102/71f day thanks to fires.
No fires and it would have been 105/69f
High ended up being 90F here 93F at MDW and 92F at ORD. Rockford hit 95F. Dew point at 75 degrees right now
Very muggy night. One more +90 degree day tomorrow before a cool down. Temp anomaly for the month is near +3F so close to June's +3.7F anomaly easily offsetting July's negative anomaly which was -1.0F.
Btw the Euro day 1-8 is above average and near average for the 8-15 day. Also we're going to be dry if the Euro is correct sandwiched in between wetter north and south

Ida is nearing Cat 5 strength. This is bad. Ida is stronger than Katrina.
Much cooler and less humid after tomorrow
Latest 6-10 day off the GEFS. The 06Z hasn't uploaded the 11-15 day yet but the 6-10 isn't as cool as it was yesterday for here but the Euro is looking cooler by day 10
This August has been incredibly humid with 21 days of dew points at or above +70F 14 days at or above +75F (today could be another) and two days at or above +80F.
So far I've had 59 days with dew point's reaching +70 degrees this summer 26 days when dew points were +75F and 2 days of +80 degree dew points
