A more interesting thing will be if July can average over 100. It would be the first time a major American city pulled that off. Average so far for the month is 101.6. Record is an average of 99.1 in August, 2020. Record for July is an average of 98.9 also in 2020.
Somewhere recently I read that, given the temperature numbers to date, an average over 100 for the month is a statistical certainty.
Looks like the "not so much concrete" Falcon Field was able to break away from its 110 F streak today. They only maxed out at 109 F, lol. Sky Harbor was 5 degrees warmer.
Another Arizona record. In Tucson they have had 14 days of 110 or above. The old record was 9 times. They have 8 in a row going on right now. But that streak might end today.
Looks like Tuscon maxed out at 106 F today, and better yet, they're getting rain/rain cooled air this evening! This is probably the first time in a while that they've seen temps below 80 F.
Phoenix is on day number 25 today. Tuesday and Wednesday appear to be the peak heat days with both days expected to reach 119. Might be a chance to break 120 which does not happen often or even approach the all time record of 122. By Sunday and Monday expected highs are just 109 with in big increase in monsoon moisture. Good chance Phoenix will end up with 30 or more straight 110 days. Saturday will be day 30.
Yes .. but its ok don't panic ! there is no such thing as Global warming/ Climate change ,,well ok there is but only in Phoenix
Mkay ..oh and ,, Houston , Tx...ok ? ;; oh and . Reno, Nev., and Grand Junction, Colo., tied all-time records of 108 and 107 degrees on Sunday and Monday....but just in those cities...oh and El Paso , TX El Paso has reached at least 100 degrees on a record 35 straight days ....oh and , Miami has had 40 days in a row with a heat index over 100, during which there was a 16-day stretch when heat index values eclipsed 105. ..... but thats it only in these cities ..

Problem when you look at that chart is the water temp rises almost 10 degrees during the day. If you look at other locations nearby its less than 1 degree.
A 24 hour period and the water only changed .2 degrees. The water is very warm almost 91 degrees. But I think the 100 degree reading is in shallow water that was warmed by the sun.
