I often tell people this as well. The climate record is a single sheet of paper laying on the sidewalk next to a 100 story build .

Yes, the Phoenix record has been broken today. Now the question is when it will end.

Its going to be a while. Next Monday it will drop to 114 then start rising again Tuesday to 115. That is 26 days straight. There is a chance of rain 30-40% Sunday and Monday. It would take a really strong monsoon storm to cool things down enough to keep the temps below 110. And sometimes that kind of thing happens.

Question is will everyday in July be over 110. At this point I would say a 30% chance.

Another big caveat is the Feedback loop goes very strong with the UHI at Skyharbor with all the Asphalt and Concrete everywhere.

A more interesting thing will be if July can average over 100. It would be the first time a major American city pulled that off. Average so far for the month is 101.6. Record is an average of 99.1 in August, 2020. Record for July is an average of 98.9 also in 2020.

True. Sky Harbor is hotter than the surrounding area.

Thursday and Friday are suppose to hit 119. Could easily end up a little hotter.

Yes, 19th straight day over 110 degrees!

Really have to drink a lot of water and avoid going outside during the day if possible.
