Chilly afternoon. 43F as of 2 PM with a wind chill of 35F. Unfortunately today's high will be 61F because of the cold front arrived just after midnight. Temp has been in the low 40's during the daylight hours.
Lows forecast in the upper 20's tonight and tomorrow night. Then warming up quite a bit with temps in the upper 70's the middle of next week. Wouldn't be surprised to hit 80F for the first time this year.
That sounds a lot like Spring 1969 (lots of upper 70's, 80's and even 90's), which was followed by the drear of summer 1969 (lots of 70's and even some 60's and dousings of rain).
Same for Chicago. March was cooler. April was closer to normal and May 1969 was on the warmer side with 10 days at or above 80F and one +90F degree day. June was well below normal with the average high for the month being -4F below normal. until the last week in which there was a 5 day heatwave in the 90s. July had an average high that was about 1F below average while August was abiut +3F above normal

Developing La Nina summers are usually good for us here so I'm not as worried about getting a bad summer.
Double nostalgia day today. It's for both good heat monitoring (February 17 2023 set lots of 30-31C daily record highs in the Melbourne/Orlando weather office area in Central Florida) good last frosts (February 17 2023 for Del Rio Airport and Dallas Executive Airport).
After a chilly couple of days temps really rebound this week
And looks to stay well above normal for at least through the end of the month and into the first few days of meteorological spring
