I was working outside with at least 3 dozen other people, picking up garbage all day long, and they weren't overcome by the heat.
Heat index was probably 105-110 F... erring closer to 105 F.

even though Housten has an incredible, most enviable climate, I'd still prefer Dallas summers because its drier and hotter, plus their overnight lows are warmer than Houston's and are to die for.

Sometimes I think I'm going to "die" from the heat and humidity in Houston

I'm sorry. I wish I could send you some cool weather, but I'm not going to have much to spare the next few days. BUT next week we're only supposed to be in the 80s during the day and in the 60s at night. I'll see what I can do for you then. Honestly, if I had that kind of power, I would do it for you.

Dallas and Houston just amaze me. Dallas has such high temps and Houston's are always lower. But the dewpoint and humidity in Houston are always very high. I've watched the past few days when TWC was talking about your areas down there. It'd be 99 in Dallas with a heat index of 102. But in Houston, it'd be 92 and the heat index was even higher then 102. Is it because of the proximity to the Gulf? The dewpoint and humidity in Dallas are less then it is way up here. Hence my dumb previous question about Dallas being in a semi-arid region.

My dear Jammie I know you would, and I would gladly return the favor with some hot weather for you
The dewpoint and humidity are usually higher in Houston and I think you're right, it's because of being so close to the Gulf.

Maybe cruise speed out on the gulf under a bimini top with a fish on would help with the heat and humidity. I know it would for me...

The Dallas area and other counties in Texas may experience a 115 degree heat index by Sunday or Monday. The lows will maybe reach the high 70s but more than likely, they'll stay in the low 80s. NOAA says this is dangerous weather event. Really, I wouldn't have guessed it if they hadn't said it.

Oh, heavens. Hot is hot and Dallas is stifling right now.

Do I dare ask about if Houston has what is referred to as "Dog Days of August" weather? If so what kind of dog would you relate it to?

I would never relate any dog to Texas weather. That old term only has to do with the constellation and the "dog" star and nothing to do with our living canines.
