Port-aux-Francais definitely. At least there's no risk of hypoxia there.

That's interesting never thought people would live in eternal winter, but I guess people will endure anything for money.

Port aux Francais. It'll be snowier by far: the coldest months in Rinconada are very dry and the highs would melt a dusting quickly. Also Port aux Francais, despite its oceanic location has the drier summers of the two. It wins this one.

I couldn't imagine what it'd be like to be living at 16,700 feet - yikes!

Port aux Francis for me. It'd be a more interesting climate anyhow.

La Rinconada doesn't have climate records. The data showed in Wikipedia comes from a webpage that automatically creates the averages via extrapolation of actual stations and adjustment of altitude. Nevertheless, from past estimations I had made together with other people, the annual temperature average is about right, but both the annual range and the daily range are a bit overestimated; the warmest season should be spring too. Rainfall is a mystery, but looks very possible in that chart. Seasonality is alright.

14,000 feet isn't that bad so I imagine 16,000 feet isn't much worse. I vote for La Rinconada due to less clouds and sunnier conditions, although the record highs at Port-aux-Français are tempting.
