In Oklahoma yesterday, the highest it got was 111. It will probably be as hot today. Click the link below to see how hot it is now in one city in Oklahoma where the high was 109 yesterday, 7/11/09:

I wouldn't want Death Valley's temperatures, but I wouldn't mind having its humidity.

115 degrees would not be very kind to my fair skin pigmentation.

Growing up, due to my fathers businesses, we moved back and forth between Phoenix and Chicago often (and I just moved from Phoenix again 18 mos ago to FL) - the hottest I can remember being in out there was either 122 or 123. . it was one year (or max 2) before I got pregnant with my son (born in '91). You would not believe the actual difference between 115 and 122/3. . . I will never forget it. That was a scorching day for sure. What is total hell is having a moving day in 115 degree weather (A Phoenix to Phoenix move).

Very pretty photos, miamiman. I like the first one with the archway, especially.

I think it is unbearably hot when it hits 90F. So at 123F I would feel like I am dying if I left my air conditioned house and stayed outside for any considerable amount of time.

Default Caught red-handed by Weather Spy

I'm a weather spy. I always look at the world temp's for places I've visited in the world, various times of the year. Been to Sydney, and you don't think those high summer temp's in the 90's there have escaped me, along with your crippling humidity?

High 90's with high humidity in Sydney in January (your summer)? With that, us desert rats accustomed to our low humidity levels would keel over down there with those sky-high heat indices.

East Coast of Australia translates to East Coast of the U.S. West Coast Australia translates to our West Coast U.S., as far as weather.

Same with South America. The drier west coast vs. the more humid east coast.
