It still sounds better than a day at -15 F.
We get -15 F nearly every year, even if it's only our morning low.

Haven't been to Phoenix since '03, it was in May, and way too warm for me, 115 I'd be unhappy!

We hit 112 a few times a couple of summers ago, except our humidity was probably higher.

Arizona is my kind of place. Nothing like swilling Iced Coffees under a brilliant hot sun with a fantastic desert backdrop with palms and mountains.

I suppose when contrasted to similar locations in Australia,
it's awesome that it's not "a mostly abandoned, 2-day drive from anywhere" kind of place.

I checked on google maps,
Phoenix is maybe 7 hours drive from San Diego; day-tripable.
Probably even closer to Las Vegas.
7 hours driving when starting from the Pilbara or Kimberely still wouldn't get you very far.

*Only things I that might make me reconsider living in Arizona;
killer bees and the booming population straining the Colorado River.
