Nalchik, colder winters, and it just seems more interesting overall. Christchurch is another one of those maritime climates that I live in, that are notorious for being boring..
Christchurch. I much prefer summer in Nalchik (an A summer), But there is only 3 months warmer than Chch, the 2 shoulder months are the same. Then the rest of the year is quite a bit colder. Factor in an additional 340 hours of sunshine for Chch, and for me, Chch has the better year round climate.
Nalchik for its warmer summers and more defined seasons. The winters are a bit depressing particularly in terms of sunshine, but a decent trade-off for a warmer summer.
Wow, my city's getting kicked apart here. Makes me feel even worse about living here.
Nalchik undoubtedly has superior summers but that's only a quarter of the year... so I have to go with ChCh due to it being warmer and sunnier for the year as a whole (2 C warmer and 300+ sunshine hours more).
Nalchik for wider seasonal variation! Although I don't like that both of these see more precipitation in summer.
