Saw your post today and since we live close by, my wife checked it out today. She really liked it and is excited to find it. Was expecting something totally different (thought you were trolling on here for visits to your store).

I can vouch for charlies market on PGA. My wife knows her russian food and this one is the best she has seen in the area so far. Thanks.

Thanks. I'll have to visit Charlie's Market, also. I've been going to European Unique Foods in Sims Creek Plaza, 1695 W. Indiantown Rd, Jupiter, FL 33458. Their telephone # is 561-743-7188 and their food selection is similar to yours.

I've never seen or heard of any Russians in the Palm Beach area. Usually, I can pick up where folks are from by their accent or language.

Well, I visited Charlie's Market and will be returning there. By the way, my grandfather, who I look like, grew up in Kanatop, a small town northeast of Kiev, and came to the US as an adult. Not everyone who grew up exposed to Russian culture is identifiable by their language or accent.

Kyiv is the capital city of Ukraine, that would make your grandfather Ukrainian...

Yes, and when I've told my last name to those who speak Russian they respond that it's a Ukranian name.

My wife still likes going there. Her only complaint is they seem to sell a lot of expired items on their shelves. So just be careful and always check the expire date on the shelve items.

Yes, no, and maybe. Ukrainian can be a nationality or an ethnicity, depending on the situation.

Ukraine being part of the Russian Empire, and Soviet Union, has a very integrated cultural lineage and history with Russia. There are many people in current day Ukraine who idenitfy themselves with Russia, especially in the east and south. There are also large areas of Cossack people and Tatar people, and many smaller groups throughout who identify themselves ethnically as people other than Ukrainian. The Ukrainian language is similar to Russia because it is part of the same sub group, but it can be difficult at times to understand for a Russia speaker and the variations of foreign words is also not understandable.

A person can travel to the Siberian region and find many people who indentify themselves as Ukrainian, just as I mentioend that people in Ukraine can identify themselves as Russian. Last names can be different with the typical Ukrainian name ending with "o" while a Russian name ending with "v". But this just determines the paternal lineage of a person, rather than the culture and ethnic indenty they associate themselves with.

So there is much more to it, it is not simply a point of location.
