Your wife being Russian, and assuming she grew up in Russia, should know her people and know they will always have expired items on the shelves, or hide the dates of the items.

Also know that most of the items have the date of manufactured, not the expiration date. They will have this made on date, then state somewhere that it is good for how ever long of a period.

Do not buy any of the products from China except for the egg noodles, but everyone else is ok.

My family name ended with a "v" before the ending was removed.

Yes, in Sunny Isles we have four Russian deli's plus some Eastern European restaurants and many many other Russian businesses. There are also some other Russian deli's in Hollywood and Hallandale. But the schools are not so good. We have started looking further afield, such as Delray Beach and West Palm Beach but in the light of a poor selection of Russian deli’s we may end up staying here due to the plentiful selection and the high level condo’s.

If anybody knows of other areas in Florida where there is a good selection of good quality Russian deli’s plus close to the sea with high level housing and good schools please let me know. I’m not Russian by my wife is.

There's a new "Russian" deli-store in Lantana, on Lantana Rd., just west of Dixie Hwy. Place is called Artur's.

I have met a bunch of Russians who live in Boca. There is a nice Russian market/deli in Boca too.
