I was wondering if there is a mom out there with young children, who lives in Wellington, FL be willing to give me the ins and outs on the area? I am from NY and have 3 young children, and my husband and I are educators. Thank you and hope you're out there!

I would love to get in on this, if I can? We currently live in Connecticut and my husband is applying for a position in Miami and I like the Wellington area because the rental price, land and schools. He will just have to commute. I have a 3 year old boy and a 10 year old girl. I am a stay at home mom so I would be interested in any "mommy groups" the area has to offer. My daughter would be thrilled to live close to horses because we are not yet set financially or with the time to care for a horse.

Thanks for any information or help you can offer! Have a great day!

I can tell you from personal experience Miami to Boca is an hour on a good day as far as commute..Wellington well one of dh's friend does it and its a solid 90 minutes without traffic...I know my dh wouldn't do that commute from Wellington..

Default just moved from ATL GA

My family and I just moved to Wellington from Atl Ga. Its wonderful so far, but very hard to meet people, its very different than GA. We moved to Village Walk and love the neighborhood and schools so far. We have two boys age 5 and 11, both are in baseball. Sports really help with the adjustment of moving. I too would love some insider information on the area.....like a great gym to join. Thanks and good luck with your move

Different how mw? Is it a very spread out area and hard to meet people due to this?

People just seem to keep to themselves here. I don't know maybe it will get better over time. In GA if we have someone new come on our team or neighborhood we invite them to dinner or have cookouts, that just hasent happened here. We invited some out to dinner and they looked at us like we were crazy.
Its not spread out here at all so maybe people just aren't as friendly and open as I'm used to. I'm going to keep an open mind and pray things get better in the friends department. As for the area its wonderful, the weather is wonderful everything is close by without having to drive far. And the traffic is soooo much better than ATL.
Where exactly is the community center and what do you do there?
