I just saw it in passing on facebook. Someone commented on the status and said they heard, second-hand, from the Bosleys that it'll be a movie theater, possibly up to 24 screens. I haven't been to Parkersburg in a few weeks and even then, I didn't pay attention to the area by Kohl's, assuming that hadn't made any more progress like always. Apparently work has started up again, which is always a good thing!

I can't imagine the area would support a 24 screen theater. While as I said, I rarely go but I know when my wife takes my daughter on occasion she said there has been times when only a couple handful of people were there.
I do not see a market for a 24 screen movie theater in this area.
The Marietta one may be out of the 80s but they are at least $2 lower than GCM and the same movie plays. My wife and I went to Marietta to watch 42 and I didn't have a problem with it.
I can't stand the GCM theaters. There's a bit of nostalgia associated with it, with the old seating and memories and whatnot, but it is very outdated (unless they've renovated within the last couple of years). I've never been to the one in Marietta.
I highly doubt that, if this is true, the complex will have 24 screens. That's pretty excessive considering most people in Vienna and OH will continue to go to the theaters in that area.
