Since heating oil time is here again I hesitate to keep using my oil company who has been servicing my home for over 50 years, in July I was charged $4.09 per gallon and the same company told me that yesterday's price was $4.00 per gallon. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with companies like oilforless, it's a cash on delivery system that enables you to pick the cheapest oil price daily from an on-line list of companies, and they charge a service fee of $6.99 per delivery, this morning they are showing oil prices around $3.24 which would be a substantial savings over $4.00 per gallon that my oil company is charging right now.
Another company I researched was called Pilgrim Oil, it's a oil co-op that gets cheaper oil negotiated for you as part of a group, and a free oil burner service contract is included.
Any responses are greatly appreciated!

The wholesale price of heating oil was $2.72-34/100 a gallon at the end of today's (October 4, 2011) trading.

Figuring in a 50¢ to 75¢ a gallon retail-wholesale mark-up, the retail price would then be $3.22 to $3.47 a gallon.
