Anybody have thoughts on whether the spring season in the area is in low gear so far cause of weather? I have seen very few new "for sale" signs or open houses.

Ugh. Yes. There's nothing on the market and it seems that many people are waiting until the last of the ice melts. If you go on the market now, you'll be flooded with buyers.

Drat! I'm 3 weeks away from being ready! I hope it stays cold.

I saw open houses start three weeks ago in parts of Larchmont and the north end of New Rochelle. Not a flood of homes, but they're hard to miss on weekends with the balloons flying. The only one I drove by had a good line of parked cars.

Good luck.

I'm starting to see the for-sale signs pop up in Ossining.

Where are you going, Klettermann? You love Pound Ridge!

Yes, we do love it and will miss it greatly. It's a great place to raise a family and the quality of life can't be beat IMO (unless you're a daily commuter). But it's time to retire 100% so we can play 100%. And my wife and I are rattling around in a large house with a whole floor that's now unoccupied and unused. It just doesn't make sense, so it's time to move on. We're headed west. The plan is 100 days a year skiing, 100 days rock climbing and the rest hiking, travel and staring into space while enjoying the mountain views.

An odd benefit of leaving Westchester is that practically everyplace else in the country is much, much cheaper.

Ah I'm jealous! Best of luck to you. I hope you have a new home picked out because inventory in Westchester is extremely low right now. Your home will sell in a day.

So I hear. And the house is in superb shape. That's a problem I look forward to!
