Denver-based Gates will add 58 jobs at its Jefferson factory, increasing employment there to nearly 325. The company, which makes automobile hoses and belts, says it picked the Jefferson location over one in Arkansas. It will receive $195,000 in state and local incentives.

My father works there and he told me that they took voluntary layoffs last week for permanent full-time employees. The 58 they are supposed to hire will be hired on as temporary, which means bottom $ pay and no benefits.
