Hello,
My husband and I and my 5yo and 7yo will be relocating to Western NC from the Philadelphia area. He will be working in the Hendersonville/Flat Rock area. Our plan is to find a 2 bedroom apartment in a decent area. Our priorities are safety, great public school district and close proximity to grocery stores and/mall. Initially, we looked into Charlotte suburbs as we'd prefer to be closer to a metropolitan city. I have been adviced by folks on the board that the commute from Charlotte Suburbs to Flat Rock is unfeasible. I would appreicate any information you can provide on affordable safe housing in a good district. $900-$1000 would be ideal as our house is currently on the market.
If you come to Asheville, stay in South Asheville area. The schools are better. Only problem is the traffic on Hendersonville rd and Sweeten Creek, traffic is a nightmare.
