David, your sunrise photos blow me away, sir. Seriously, that view never gets old. I'm sure you feel the same way. (Now you can't respond without posting another picture! )

A lil' bit of color, at the peaks, and slightly trickling down the slopes...
nice soft shot from around dinner time this eve, 9-27-'11, shot from our deck.
Nice light on MtPisgah and TheColdMtn...thanks for looking!

Autumn here on the Mtn, is my Fave time of the year: cool to cold nights, daytime temps will not get above ~70 in the shade the rest of the season, and the sunrises/sunsets are familiar, but slightly different everyday...and, usually beautiful.
Here are a couple from this morning: dawn, just before sunup, with the lights of Waynesville twinkling below us, and another just as the sun crested the ridges across from us. ISO is cranked up to 800, so a tad grainy, but a good example of the early morning view, when I got back from my usual walk up our mtn, in the dark. Hope I don't wear you all out with my 'views'. Thanks for looking!

Very 'Fall Looking' up here this afternoon...subtle fading color, and the rain is rolling in. A day or two of windy rain may take most of the oomph out, at this altitude. More color to come in the lower elevations.
Kayaked the French Broad from Barnard To Stackhouse.....some pics from the take out....
