Snow has let up somewhat, is finer than it was; seems like it's turned to a snow/sleet mix. Last "scientific" measurement (with a 50 yr old yardstick) was 17" in my driveway.

Couldn't see it but I can close my eyes and remember well....

It hasn't done anything here for most of the day....even had a little melting.
Been feeding the birds here too...poor little guys, no food available on the ground...

Hoping to keep power all night!

I'm waiting for the official report, but from different measurements here at Beech, we got about 22 inches.

Power stayed on up here the whole storm, but at our flatland home where they got zilch other than a bit of freezing rain and minor wind, the power was off for a total of 6 hours.

We aren't 'there' on our Mtn currently, but several neighbors report 20+ and all have had no Duke Energy Progress since early on Sat, though many have whole house generators.

Don't tell us, we don't want to know that you are sitting in your Florida all season room in a Hawaiian shirt, shorts and flip flops sipping a nice cool glass of ice tea, while watching the seagulls grab crustaceans, then fly up and drop them on the rocks trying to break them open for breakfast.

The rest of us up here are watching the last of the snow fall as we scuffle around looking for a slightly warmer spot hear the fireplace.

Feeding the birds this AM...

Cardinals, Chickadees, Titmice, Blue Jays, Juncos
and one squirrel.

That's all so far.

Hope all have a good day and that you have power...

JUST NOW...saw the sun!

Sun is finally out. Melt should really start pick up on the lower elevation roads.
