Hi everyone! Thank you for all of your info. No I have not ever been there so I am for familiar with the areas that is why I asked I was actually thinking of doing a tiny home but with my daughter only being 11 I dont think now is the best time. Since posting I have actually been looking at Charlotte and do think it looks like a better fit! So, I booked tickets 2 nights ago and we are going there in March during my daughters school spring break. I appreciate all of your input and you taking the time to post. I actually am looking in SC also in Fort Mill just over the border as a lot of people on the charlotte forums mentioned it and so we will be checking that out on our trip as well. I am also going to look into SC a little more as well. It seems like maybe taxes are cheaper there from what I have seen? Also, the school are really good in Fort Mill which is good for my daughter. I cant wait to visit 20 more days!

Nice area! Yes, the schools in Fort Mill are highly rated. I am sure you will find what you like in that area. It does have what you are looking for in terms of new areas and new neighborhoods. You should still visit Asheville either way while you are there. Good luck!

If it fits in the OP's budget, and the OP Fam likes a lake/club/an upper class community feel, look at Tega Cay...

15 mins drive 'west' of Ft Mill.

We have good friends there and the area is umpty fine, imo.

We are moving to the Weaverville area very soon. There are new big box stores, smaller chain stores, several supermarkets, restaurants and banks just outside the town which is very quaint with one of a kind coffee shops and restaurants. It is on rt. 26 giving you quick access to Asheville 20 minutes south and Johnson City TN maybe 40 minutes north. National forests are all around. We built in a plan with an HOA but there is a wide range of new housing here with or without acreage.
