Public Unions are a bad idea. This acknowledgement is becoming more known, not just in WI but across the country.
What's clear is that as union membership, both public and private, continues to decline, middle class wages and standard of living continue to decline. That is an indisputable fact. Maybe you are cool with that, but I'm not. Walker is exacerbating the shrinkage of the middle class here in Wisconsin with his policies.

I doubt it. Those jobs are going overseas and to right to work states like Texas due to Union high wages and high Taxes. Illinois is a great example with so many companies leaving that state. State Farm just built 2 huge facilities here. Caterpillar is moving much of their operations south. Volvo is building a new plant in SC.

Our right to work, low tax state (and most others) is booming. You guys should give it a try.

Yes, lower wage jobs with fewer benefits are helping to drive the economy in many places in the US and abroad, though many RTW states are booming for reasons that have little to do with RTW specifically. The business owners and managers benefit a lot, but the workers only benefit less. On the other hand, at least the workers have jobs, even though compensation and conditions generally aren't as good as they used to be with the presence of unions.

You think Caterpillar or State Farm cut wages or benefits when they move to Texas? They don't.

When JC Penny moved here from New Jersey it was like giving every employee a 60% raise.

Further, comparing Texas to Wisconsin is pretty disingenuous. Completely different state, different geography, different resources, etc.

I have never heard anyone state that teachers or public worker,s by just holding the position, are overpaid.

Facts? Such as salaries have been stagnant in real dollars for decades despite gigantic increases in worker productivity and corporate profits?

Facts? Such as the income and wealth inequality gaps have risen tremendously among this same time period?

The right doesn't care about facts, nor does it seem to care about people.

Is one of your new "facts" that the State legislature/governor sets local property tax rates too? You might not want to use words you don't understand.

How is kowtowing to public unions solving any problems you speak of?
Once again - simple lefty talking points.

Dude - You kill me sometimes. Of course State gov't impacts local property taxes. It is true the bill may come from a local municipality, but make no mistake about it - Federal and state mandates (especially in education) drive significant cost.
