I'm only finding this source that says that the recall was launched in November 2011 by one of his own supporters in order to get a jump on raising funds. But I'd like to know more if you have more info.

You got that right. I'd love to retire back to Wisconsin, but, realistically, I'll be just on the other side of the river. Minnesota is doing so much better and being smarter. They're benefitting from attracting or best and brightest!

A Democrat just flipped a deep red gerrymandered suburban Milwaukee assembly district that contains Wauwatosa and Brookfield. I guess suburbs really are shifting towards Democrats post-Trump. It means that a Democrat actually represents a sliver of Waukesha County. Not sure the last time that happened in the state legislature.

I agree, and I once lived in Madison. Minnesota is eating Wisconsin's lunch right now, and MN has two DEM Senators and a DEM governor, and a prospering Twin Cities.

It's been mentioned before, but the Dems also get more than a few votes from western WI, on the Minnesota border, including LaCrosse. It's not entirely dependent on Milwaukee city, Dane County and its immediate surrounding counties, either..

Wow...I did vote for McBride in Wauwatosa - former head prosecutor for EEOC in Milwaukee who'd been a Tosa Alderman for years. He lost by a good margin.

Can redistricting fix this - from your link:

If the result is confirmed for Vining, it would leave Republicans with a 63-36 edge in the chamber.
That is outrageous.

Those gosh-darn educated elite. Could it be possible they actually KNOW something?

Yes, I didn't know that until I heard a newscaster mention this and then checked the NYT district maps. Nice pocket there - along the border.

The most interesting results to me were in Northeast Wisconsin: Winnebago, Brown, Door, and Outagamie counties.

Brown went 51.5%-48.5% for Baldwin, but 53.1%-44.7% for Walker.
Outagamie went 50.2%-49.8% for Baldwin, but 54.4-43.5% for Walker.
Winnebago went 53.2%-47.8% for Baldwin, but 50.7-47.0% for Walker.
Door went but 55.7%-44.3% for Baldwin, but 50.3-48.0% for Walker.

Yeah- Take a look at the 2014 vs. 2018 results.

In 2014, Scott Walker took 72.5% of the vote in Waukesha County compared to Mary Burke's 26.5%. In 2018, he took 66.2% compared to Evers' 32.5%.

In 2014, Scott Walker took Ozaukee County 70.0%-29.3%. In 2018, he lost over 7% there and took it 62.7-36.0%.

In 2014, Scott Walker took Washington County 75.9%-23.4%. In 2018, he took it 72.2-26.5%.

In 2016, Ron Johnson took Waukesha County 67.9-30.2%. In 2018, Leah Vukmir only (relatively speaking, of course) took it 61.8%-38.2%.

In 2016, Ron Johnson took Ozaukee County 64.9-33.2%. In 2018, Leah Vukmir took it 57.9-42.1%.

In 2016, Ron Johnson took Washington County 72.3%-25.6%. In 2018, Leah Vukmir took it 67.1%-32.9%.

Obviously, the "WOW" counties have a ways to to go before they are blue, or even purple...but for these Republicans strongholds to shift 5-9% towards the Dems in just 2-4 years is pretty interesting, IMO.

Suburbs all across America on Tuesday showed signs of GOP erosion. That's practically why Dems won the House on Tuesday: Because many suburban districts flipped blue. White suburban soccer moms and college-educated whites are increasingly feeling alienated by the GOP.

I am still very impressed that a Democrat managed to flip an assembly seat that stretches into Waukesha County of ALL places. That seat has beein occupied by a Republican for God knows how long! In fact, Scott Walker used to be the state senator for this district.

Regarding Dane, in 2014 Burke won Dane County by 69.7% with 175k raw votes, whereas Walker won Dane by 29.2% at 73k. In 2018, Evers won Dane County at a whooping 74.7% with 220k votes (compared with 217k votes for Hillary in a PRESIDENTIAL election!), whereas Walker only Dane by 23.5% at 69k (2k fewer votes than Trump), so Dane has gotten a lot bigger and more Democratic post-Trump.

Yep. If Dane keeps growing AND getting more blue, and the Milwaukee 'burbs slowly start shifting toward the Dems - even if they never become full "blue" - it's not hard to see how WI becomes a blue state again.
