I spoke with my coworker today. She says if you're outdoorsy, there are great trails. There is also some type of zip line "somethingoranother". There are a couple of wineries. There's an Escape Room.

I don't know, that's what she told me today!

And if that's all true, and you do like those sort of things, there's the restaurants and the shopping, also.

Me thinks you could get in all this for a whole weekend trip.

Nobody would say there is a shortage of activities in Lake Geneva that's for sure. It's just mainly a tourist haven if you're into that kind of thing. On summer weekends it's literal zoo.

The Northwoods has far better scenery and infinitely more lakes to choose from. I've no interest in ever going to Lake Geneva.

NOW you're talking. The North land is leagues beyond anything south of Eau Claire/Green Bay and such to be sure. To me Lake Geneva was always just a playground for the folks coming up from Illinois with their garbage. Same deal with the Dells. Now they have overrun Door County sadly.

It is hard for me to think about Lake Geneva as being overrated as I have never really heard anyone say something good about it. I view it as some extended suburb of Chicago, nothing more and nothing less.

I own a vacation rental in Door County. I enjoy using it two months in the winter. The other 10 months I enjoy renting it and ripping off the fibs. There is a far better peninsula just to the north of where I live that I visit frequently for my playground...

I've only driven through there once.
Wasn't impressed.
Crowded. The lake seemed small for all the activity that was going on.
I grew up in a more landlocked part of the country so being near Lake Michigan is way more interesting to me.
Plus, there are thousands of other lakes, many of them more peaceful.
If we're talking about the town, Wisconsin has plenty of other options with that as well.
Seems like a playground for wealthy Illinois people. Door County is kind of the same way.
Not my cup of tea.

No, not a fan of Minocqua, I prefer the remote rural areas of northern Vilas County 15+ miles removed from Minocqua or Eagle River.
