How can someone be expected to preform well in such a hostile environment? idk, I think you should keep a very positive attitude, do the very best that you can, and ride the job out until the job market picks up. Also, get him on video (with your iphone) screaming obscenities then if anything happens to you sue the company.

My previous supervisor/boss was being sued as I was preparing to leave, as I've mentioned on another thread. This was a case where a worker was injured and the boss refused to give her an unpaid day to get an xray done.Unreasonable people on an ego trip eventually pay the price for this. Lawyers are just waiting in the wings, as the vultures that they are, to swoop down on any disgruntled employee, be their case valid or not.

My last boss, an attorney, was a good guy and I liked working for him very much. However, he used to throw tantrums, and sometimes throw objects - one day in particular, I heard this loud crash. I went to investigate and found that he had thrown a heavy brass picture frame across his office, and it hit his door, shattering, and left a large hole in the door. He said it was because his appointments were "overscheduled". (He didn't seem to want to be in the office much anymore. More than three appointments in one day, especially preventing him from taking a long lunch, started to set him off). I pointed out that if I'd picked that moment to walk in his office, that picture frame would have hit me in the face. He felt sorry then, and apologized, but I told him I would appreciate having no more rages and throwing things, and if he had an issue he was unhappy with, he should let me know, and we'd fix it. The firm was doing poorly financially, but he didn't want appointments? A few months later, his wife filed for divorce. It was rumored he was having an affair. I don't know if that's true or not, but I guess it would explain his not wanting to be in the office.
