You must live in the suburbs. Atlanta a bit more liberal.

Atlanta COL is affordable and there is so much to do; plus warm weather!

Actually, I live inside 285 and living in Atlanta doesn't get you away from the regressive, state politics. Just today there was talk of a portion of Atlanta forming its own county as they didn't want to pay for/support the rest of Atlanta. i don't see that changing.

It's just not a good fit for me as I would gladly pay a higher tax for better schools, libraries, infrastructure, etc. Unfortunately, the lure of a low tax outweighs all other consideration here.

3. Kansas City

4. Phoenix

5. Atlanta

6. St. Louis

Which cities would I enjoy the best? I'm coming from a big city with lots to do so I want a place that allows me a few options. Basically, I am 25 I like to go out, eat good food and enjoy a city life. Obviously coming from NYC everything will seem small but I also want that feeling. Any suggestions will help!
San Antonio, KC and St Louis would be out. Phoenix is okay but the weather is a scorcher in the summer. Coming from the northeast you'll have an adjustment for sure!
So that leaves Charlotte and Atlanta. Atlanta, as others have said, is sprawling. It would have the biggest city feel, but in my mind I'd go for Charlotte myself!
