The job is stable. But no COLA now for going on three years is a bit much if you ask me....

Don't see a change in the future either.

True, but considering how much more it pays than in the private sector, I'm going to be doing just fine.

And let's not forget stipends.

Isn't that always how it is? You hear nothing then BAM you have all these offers? That's how it happened for me too.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. I actually got sent a "homework" assignment from this interview. Never had that happen before.

Many, many congratulations! Heaven knows, you have earned your good outcome on the strength of your diligence and tenacity.

So happy that you will no longer have to worry about a job, and that you found one that is both steady and will pay you fairly for your efforts.

As they say on Star Trek, live long and prosper. Best to you.

Seems to be that way. For the longest time, you are chopped liver. Suddenly, you're the "It" girl. smh

Congrats to you and good luck.

Thanks!

Only other choice I had was to whine about it...ok, I did that. Let me rephrase:

Only other choice I had was to give up and lose everything, most importantly, my pets. Some days, they were the ONLY things that kept me going.

Unbelievable you have a government job. I've been applying to those for years in IT ( IN and OUT of my current state) can never get a foot in the door. Work at a base now but it would be nice not worrying about contract expiration.
