Ya, we're about the same age, so I know the difference between how I felt in 1999 and how I feel now!

How many people who work a 8 hour shift really get 8 hours of sleep a night? I try to get in bed by 12:30am and be sleep by 1:30 to wake up at 7am.

I work from 6a-2:30pm. M-F

12am-4:30am is when I sleep.

He should try working out.

Don't be discouraged by other people who go to bed earlier. Folks that go to bed later generally have higher IQs.

I get up at 6.15 - 30, get to work at 7.10 - 7.25 depending on if I need to start early, finish at 3 (I used to finish at about 4.00 up until recently) and I try to go to sleep at 10.30, lately it's more been like 9.45, the latest I usually go to sleep is about 12 but I find this tires me out a lot - I only have a "late" night once a week.

The best way to go to sleep is view is sleep as a "fun", relaxing thing to do.

I would get up earlier, but I find it difficult to go to sleep any earlier than 9.30, and find it equally difficult to get up before 6am, plus I only have a short commute to work!

I love meditating before sleep, reading in bed, or even trying to lucid dream before sleep

5-6. I go to bed at 12-1 am, and get up at 6-630. There isn't enough time in the evening to do everything I need/want to do!

Not that I've ever heard of any such fact but, if you believe it to be true, then you surely must admit that in context alone there obviously must be some very major exceptions to the rule.

I was referring to this study: http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/...-morning-larks

But, yes, I know what you mean and I would have to agree that there are exceptions.

It's an interesting hypothesis but it doesn't seem to have been so widely researched as to be proven and, in fact, the only studies done have been on children and there's no data to support that the results carry through to adulthood. Interesting, though - thanks for the link! I used to subscribe to Psychology Today years ago and always enjoyed their articles.
