Thanks everyone! I'm just feel like I'm in a situation where Im setting myself up for a regret later down the road. I'm not currently or have ever gone to college, and honestly colleg is not for me. I'm more if a learn as you work type if person. But I know at some point either ill have to go back to school or get lucky and find a job that I really like and work my way up. I'm to the point where I just want to resign and stop working until I find something I actually want to do.

I think you should first find an actual career (or some sort).
Even if you had a real career position you should expect some a change up in that.

It's not uncommon for people to go back to school an change careers 3 times before retiring.
Why isn't working in a restaurant not a career position? That just comes off as being snobby.

I think by "career" he means working in a cut-throat corporate office environment.

Changing oil at Jiffy Lube is another example of a job that is NOT a career position.
How about cashier at 7-11? Want more?

That some people might spend their entire working lives doing this sort of thing...
isn't enough to make them anything more than the entry level and get by jobs that they are.

It IS a career position if you've attended culinary academy and work at a highly acclaimed restaurant. However, as the OP pointed out, it's a very stressful job.

There's no reason not to change careers (or jobs, whatever you want to call them) if the one you're in isn't working for you.

Trust your gut. You know best. Work with a professional career coach to ensure you're on the right track and create a blueprint for the future. Your instincts are right on target. You will end up working smarter not harder

What qualifies someone to be a "professional career coach?"
