In this country, in 2013, nothing surprises me anymore.

Sadly as it stands, everything and anything is [and not] possible.

I know someone who got a degree in nursing and she is back in school to get another degree. I just think why? Why have 2 or more degrees it's wasting money isn't it?

I've said it many times and many ways. When will people start to believe it?

Degrees are NOT a guarantee of anything. The school didn't promise you a job. No company promised you a job.

It is an unrealistic expectation to think a degree is an automatic job. It never has been a guarantee. Even during a good economy there were people with degrees that were unemployed. The reason more people were employed had nothing to do with their degree.

True, degrees are helpful but again, are not guarantees. Don't blame your degree if you don't have a job.

If a multi degreed person is unemployed, I would seriously question their resume/cover letter and their job hunting skills. Are they looking nationwide? Are they applying to enough job? Numbers are important. What's the quality of their experience?

One of the degrees has to be an undergraduate. Wouldn't it?

Some people are afraid to get into the real world and keep going to school to hide that fact.

Yes.

3 master's degrees and no job would probably suggest to me that the candidate is very book-smart but lacks overall common sense.

Time more like it. Lots of master's programs are fully funded, especially in the sciences.

i agree with other posters. check your resume, cover letter, interview skills, appearance etc, also, do you applicable work experience or any at all. 3 degrees and no history of work experiences is bad.

When i was in college, i worked at a retail store to pay for my education. This showed that i was capable of multi-tasking and managing my time.
